a quick back track, that inspires my wardrobe

Alexander McQueen, who shockingly committed suicide on February 11th, 2010 left his empire open to discussion over who should take over the line, and more importantly his name. Sarah Burton seemed an obvious choice.

I want to bring us back to the McQueen, Spring 2011 line. To talk about a few small details that enchant me.

If you look closely at the models feet, their are life-sized butterflies perched. Delicate wings open, and almost overly life-like. Butterfly's to me symbolize freedom, youth, and playfulness which i find should be the very concentration of all our attention in Spring.



















In this picture, Model Karlie Kloss walks the cracked, street-like runway in a flowing mini dress of nudes and black lace flowers. This dress accentuates girlishness with a hint of dark side.


My whole point to this post is to point out the things that inspire my spring wardrobe. And to point out the fact that i would have to agree with Paris-based fashion expert, Alexandra Golovanoff and say "I really liked it because what we saw was really McQueen"

Small town, Big dreams

It seems to me that Canada is becoming more fashion conscious, with modeling muses like Daria Werbowy, Coco Rocha, Jessica Stam and wonderfully creative designers like Ontario born- Dean and Dan Caten- for Dsquared2 its no wonder.

I just wish some of this big city fashion could be shared with all of the smaller cities and town. My hope for this blog is to help Canadian fashion fans come out of their shells with confidence and show off their sense of style. While learning a lot for myself, about the immense industry of fashion.
